Now that you have decided you want to start a business, you want to know where to start. The most obvious thing to consider is, what will your business be? Some things you should consider is what industry will you be in? Will you be selling goods or providing a service? There are numerous goods and services you could provide. Let's start by breaking down what a service is and what commerce is.


Service Industry


In a service business you provide services with your skillset to customers. Typically, a service business has less expenses so you may be able to start servicing customers today. What are you good at? Have you worked for a trucking company? Start brokerage. Are you a certified welder? Do you have a pest control permit? Can you cook? You can start a business with any skill.


Even somebody with no skills can start a business. Can you clean? You can start a cleaning business with some cleaning supplies and hard work. Do you have a lawn mower? You can immediately stay a landscaping business. Do you have a snow shovel? You can implement snow removal during the winter for your landscaping business.


Commerce Industry


In a commerce industry you buy and sell commodities for a profit. Anything can be a commodity, like gold or electronics. Very expensive items like jewelry or cheaper products such as envelopes or simply paper has value and can be bought at a wholesale price to be sold for a profit.

You can start a business!


Don't doubt yourself. People all over the world come to America, start businesses and succeed even without having the benefit of strong English skills. They work hard. Having a business means you'll work hard. Trust me it's a lot easier to work hard when you know all that money you're making goes straight into your pocket!
